Upcoming Events

Web Banner 2.jpg

For our upcoming Peace Kitchen, we're collaborating with the Salvation Army's Couch Internatonal Student Centre to proactively bring together people who may not usually cross paths—professionals, students, community organisations and community members from across Melbourne.

The hope is simple: that people leave having met someone they would not normally encounter, with a broader perspective and fresh insights they can carry into their own organisations and communities.

When: Thursday 13 August 2026, 6:30-8:30pm

Where: Bourke Street, Melbourne CBD (location to be disclosed on registration)

What to expect:

Over a shared meal, guests will take part in a facilitated dialogue experience inspired by themes from Dr Elaine Pratley's new book 'Hungry for Peace' (Edinburgh University Press, 2026).

Through food, storytelling and conversation, we'll explore belonging, identity and how we can build stronger relationships across difference.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please register your interest here. We will be thoughtfully curating a mix of students, professionals, community leaders and social entrepreneurs from across Melbourne.

In the spirit and heart of reconciliation, Peace Kitchen acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country in the nations we live and work in.  We particularly pay our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people today, and their Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognise their connections to land, sea, and community, and the instrumental role they have in fostering a peaceful world where all may flourish.
